Update and the the reason I haven’t painted or posted since October 20. My sister Karen’s older son, my sweet nephew Briar, died suddenly on October 29, and it has turned our world upside down. Some people find some healing in their hobbies, etc., and although I thought I would, I haven’t. There are good days and then, like today, I cry for hours. Without going on and on, I just wanted to say that one day I’ll be back on here. Thanks. Below is a series of a few pictures my sister Kelly made from the hundreds of pictures of Briar we gathered.
Forever loved…. Briar Linden Garber, July 28, 1993 – October 29, 2017
It it has been a busy summer with no painting, except for a craft table for a friend’s new home (which I forgot to take pics). So my project today is an old wine barrel that belongs to my sister. She brought this heavy thing in for me to paint for her, and I finally did it today. It’s not finished yet, but with some touch-up color and outdoor sealer… it will be good-to-go. I love it. I painted a rough base of Coco chalk paint by Annie Sloan, and the rest was done with Unicorn SPiT in different colors. Can’t wait to see how she likes it. She is going to make a table out of it with wine bottles and string lights… so this will be a fun project.
Also, I finally picked up 2 colors of Fusion Mineral Paint and am looking forward to trying them out. I will update about that later :)) Happy Autumn 🍁🍎🇺🇸
I cannot get the best macro pics of this without blur and a glare… but it looks like peacock colors to me. I might even see a few feathers in there, but that’s just me 🙂 Used Elmer’s Glue, Unicorn SPiT, water and a hair product with dimethicone. All on a messed-up canvas re-painted with SPARKLiNG STAiN. This is wet, not sure how it will dry.
I added a little white into the one on the right. The one was a swipe but I used a tad too much black, and the one was a dirty pour flip cup with leftover paint from the swipe. The pictures are full pic and some macro, still wet.
I have missed painting the last few weeks. Here are a few pics (some macro) of 2 I did today with leftover paints. The last one… dang, that is the dripping from the swipe!! I love that. Hopefully I can get it to come off as a nice skin!!
